Welcome to Starkey's Stormers
James Starkey was a team mate of ours for several years playing for Nuneaton RFC Junior Section, sadly he passed away in 2003 aged 16. In his memory we have formed Starkey's Stormers to enter tournaments and competitions and to play in his spirit.
The team is made of ex-team mates and friends of James, mainly from the Nuneaton and Bedworth area. We originally came together to enter Nuneaton Old Ed's 10's tournament in 2005. We have continued to enter this tournament and were Plate winners in 2006 and losing semi-finalists in 2007. In the future we plan to tour once a year and to continue entering the Old Ed's 10's. In Easter 2008 we went on tour to Belgium and entered Ghent's 15-a-side tournament.
We are very socially active, enjoy a beer and the craic as James would have and intend to continue this tradition wherever we play and tour.
Many Stormers have gone on to play for National league teams, local junior clubs and universities accross Britain.
